Unite for Women: Combat Violence

Join for a powerful manifestation on Stortorget, right outside Lund City Hall. We come together to raise our voices and stand in solidarity against violence against women. Let’s make our presence felt and start the day with a strong message.

Panel discussion:

Introductions (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM):
Each speaker will introduce themselves and their organisations. There will also be time for questions directly to each speaker.

Coffee Break and Networking (2:00 PM – 2:30 PM):
After these informative presentations, we invite you to an informal coffee break. It’s an excellent time to connect with representatives from these organizations and fellow attendees.

Panel Discussion for Change (2:30 PM – 3:30 PM):
The highlight of the afternoon is our panel discussion, where our speakers come together to discuss and share their unique perspectives on combating violence against women. We’ll explore ways we can learn from each other and collaborate to make a difference.

Speakers:

Baltazar Faunbäck – MÄN Lund/Malmö: An organization that engages men in changing destructive masculinity norms and advocates for gender equality.

Casey Vendel – Iranprotest: An association promoting human rights and highlighting women’s rights and challenges in Iran.

Jaya and Pushpa – Grameena Mahila Okkuta: ”Rural Women’s Federation” in southern India, working to enhance women’s economic opportunities and combat gender-based violence.

Maria Dexborg – Kriscentrum Malmö: Kriscentrum Malmö’s call reception is aimed at anyone who lives or has lived in a destructive relationship where violence occurs, has occurred or where there is a risk of violence. Both those who are exposed, have been subjected to violence and those who practice violence are welcome.
